While I was growing up, my mom became interested in herbs and how to creatively use them — not only for cooking, but also in crafts.  She shared her passion for gardening with my siblings and me, and over the years I grew herbs and began figuring out different ways to use them.  Several years ago, my husband and I retired and bought some land.  Richard has always said that life is long enough to enjoy more than one adventure.  We built our house and moved, ready to start a new kind of life - life on a farm.  When I started planning the landscaping, I decided to put a focus on growing herbs.  Five years have passed. And the only plants I add to our landscaping are herbs and fruits that I can use in culinary blends or herbal teas or flowers that can be pressed or dried.  What started as just our home’s landscaping has turned into over 20 perennial raised beds and over 1,000 square feet of annual herbs and flowers.  My husband knows me well enough to know that this is only the beginning.  

In 2017 I started selling dried herbs at a small farmers market near our home.  I found that people weren’t very interested in purchasing individual dried herbs — at least the way that I packaged them.  They wanted herbal products with specific uses — for cooking, drinking, relaxing and cleaning. So, the next year I decided to begin selling seasonings and herbal teas and got the opportunity to move to a bigger market.  In 2021 I started doing some fall markets - bit by bit expanding what I’ve been doing.  It’s been a fun and educational journey, and I am thankful for my customers who have supported me as I have tried new recipes and new ways of packaging.  I’ve enjoyed sharing not only what I know about herbs and how to use them to flavor foods, but also how to grow and harvest them.  To keep up with demand, we put in a commercial kitchen, expanded our gardens and are providing more ways to order.  This website and a pre-ordering option are ways we are making it easier to access the fresh herbal products that you want.
